What a strange thing

How very strange that those who claim to be wise, somehow find it neccessary to pray to things of wood in order to "Reach God". As if God needs a mere symbol of that which is persihable, to reach that which is eternal.

Mankind has always done these things, from Stonehenge to reading the entrails of pigeons, mankind (that's us) has always felt the need to create something in the physical to try and reach that which is spiritual.

In the words of Paul in Acts 18.27 "That they should seek God, and perhaps grope after him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us 28 for in him we live and move and have our being...........29 If therefore we are the offspring of God, we ought not to imagine that the Divinity is like to gold or silver or stone to a image graven graven by human art or thought.

The foolishness of titles

Call yourself "Father" or "Bishop" or Cardina" whatever...

The veil has been torn the truth is available to all who seek Truth.

Eschew those titles, why are using them? Is not Christ's cammand "the Gentiels have Kings who Lord it over them, for you things are diffrerent. The one who makes themselves great will be the least, the one who is the servant to all , will be the greatest of all"

Father, Mother, Nonesense, we are all one Christ.

A strange thng happened on the way to the Council

A strange thing happened on the way to a very important council. It would seem that a simple man had been invited to the council. The man was of simple origns, he had no need of great learning yet knew what the knew. He was however, embarrassed to be in such a great learned company. So on the way a plan was formed, he would speak as plainly as possible about what he had witnessed. He would make the facts of his experience so plan that even a child could understand it.

Upon arrival at the council there was a feast called, everyone would be there! What a important event, all of the "right" people would be there. So as the banquet was called and the Guest of Honor was seated. Each attendee was asked why they thought that they were invited. A Famous Doctor stood up first and said
"Because I have healed thousands of people, there are people all over the world who have been healed by me"
A famous physiscist stood up next and said "I invented a power source that doesn't pollute and actually produce oxygen instead of carbon dioxide, the Earth is now saved from ourselves"
A Pulitzer Prize winning author stood up and said "I am here because I have written the best novel ever produced by mankind, it can never be equaled"

Finally the simple man stood up and said "Because You invited me, otherwise I have no place at this table, i am honored to be invited here"

And the Guest of Honor replied "well said, these other men though the think they are wise, they are actually quiete foolish, they never even mentioned that they were here because of what I gave them, who made man so that they could be healed? Who made the earth? Who made language so that it could be written, who made you so that you could thank me?"

Faith is the hope in the unseen

The essence of Faith is not in what is seen , rather it is what is unseen. If one does not ahve the faith to to beleive, then what good are the idols of failed religions? If one requires a idol, a image of the unseen to have faith then how can one ever believe?

To try and believe by what is seen and not understood is attempting to place a image over faith, and that is entirely anathema to faith. Faith is the essence that makes Christians well..Christians. did Paul ever say "let us build a icon to a person of faith so that our faith may be greater?" Of course not, Paul and the Disciples never said any thing of the sort, they decried Idols and warned against the dangers of worshipping at them.

"Little children keep yourselves away from idols" 1John 5.21

Guard your faith and believe in Him in whom we have our existence do not be distracted nor waylaid by mankind"s spectacles, they merely serve as milk to the spiritually poor.

They tell me that there is love here ........

They tell me that there is love here but I say that is blatant ( a blatant lie)...

Such is the refrain from a popular rap personality. The mixing of Chritstinaity with commerce is nothing new nor is it surprising. However, consider this, putting faith messages on a product may not be or could be cheapening Jesus. Even the marketing for the film "The Passion of the Christ" had it's share of tawdry baubbles to be sold.

Does a short film make something "righteous"? Of course not, believers are not mind numbed robots, Rather we have choices to make in this life. and the choices that one makes can define one's life to others. The good the bad the uncaring, they all are noticed by other people. All of the bad stuff clings to one like a shadow, you may not notice it, but it is always there.

However, Love keeps no memory of tresspasses, let's try and make our lives disprove the above statement.
Life Is good, for the dear only know that it is better to be living. And the living in Christ will never know Death,
And will witness to Christ's love. So there IS love here, not amongst men, but amongst the Godly.

WE may be selling out our faith

There is a sad and very unsaid Truth happening in the US today. We are quite simply losing our roots as both a country and a faith. Instead of doing those things that we know to be correct, in all segments of our society we are trading in what we know to be true for the results that we would like to see happen.

Just stop, Just stop buying things that one knows that they cannot afford on credit, just stop lying to the very thing in all of ourselves that makes us ourselves, just stop. For once just think of others rather than ourselves, just do it. Do things that make your Spirit happy. Be true to thine oneself, and the resluts will amaze you, God does not demand us to be perfect, he asks us all to try and be loving, and love never fails, love is not proud rather love is beautiful and worthy of us all. And it is worthy of Christ. Put down that widget and notice the world, the perfection of a smile or a timely word, is worthy of life. Life and indeed time, are gifts, and who has ever heard of a poorly given gift? One can do more with a kind word and a smile, than a harsh word and hatred.in ones eyes.

Do these things and your light shall be a sight to behold. do these things that are worthy of our common existence.

"if they do not work they shall not eat"

These words have been used by many a advocate of smaller govt, but what do they mean exactly in a Biblical or a moral context?

The early Christian church was certain that Christ would return immeadiately, and there were many who took advantage of the thought by not working, and taking advantage of there fellowship to not work. That of course does not mean that those who are actually are disabled should not work, Rather, it is more a case of the able bodied shirking any sort of labor and using Jesus's return as an excuse not to labor.
